Beloved radio, friends, in the worthy name of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, we greet you heartily again, with joy in knowing that we come to you with the living Word of God. We thank God for the revelation of his truth and the depths of truth that are found within the pages of the Bible. Our continuation in the study of the book of Exodus, we now follow. as we turn again to the seventh chapter of the book of Exodus, to find from the first plague in Egypt long ago something that tells us in symbol and illustration the character of the world in which you and I live in, and that God's judgments must come upon the world because of the character it possesses. We read verse nineteen through twenty one again. The Lord spake unto Moses, say unto Aaron, Take thy rod and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon the streams, upon their rivers, upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood. And that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone. And Moses and Aaron did so as the Lord commanded. He lifted up the rod and smoked the waters that were in the river, in the side of Pharaoh, and in the side of his servants. And all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood. And the fish that was in the river died, and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river. And there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt. Now once again we would state that this was a visitation of divine judgment upon the gods of Egypt. And the particular god they worship as they worship the river Nile. That we have touched upon in great detail. and realize it was a visitation of divine displeasure upon the Egyptians, first of all, for their idolatry, and second, for their cruelty in casting the baby boys of the Hebrews again and again into the river to be destroyed by the crocodiles. Now may I come close to your conscience and to your mind and heart to bring the application of this long ago visitation in Egypt to the world in which you and I are living in. You may ask the question, can God turn water into blood, a symbol of his visitation of judgment and displeasure and death? My friend, he certainly can, for I do want you to know that the whole human race, the whole human family has been affected by sin under Satan, That O serpent, the devil? And when you look at the world at large, it has produced moral death. Let me ask one question. Do you think that there's room for God in this world by nature? Let me ask the question of you, my friend. Did the world make room for the Son of God when He came? You know the answer. The world crucified him. The world set away with him. We will not have this man to reign over us. And the death of Christ in this world is a proof that there is no room for God where Satan reigns. But, oh, may I remind my listener, if you and I will in our hearts make room for the Lord Jesus, He will come in. Behold, I stand at the door and am knocking. If any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come into him and sump with him and he with me, says the Lord Jesus. But I want immediately to turn to the book of Revelation with you, my friend. I want you to note with me that in the book of Revelation, blood is found in connection with the future judgments of God. And I wish to read very briefly. but completely from Revelation chapter eight and verses eight through eleven, one of the judgments that's going to take place in the future day upon the world. Listen carefully. Revelation eight, verse eight through eleven, the second angel sounded, and this was a trumpet judgment, and as it were, a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea, and the third part of the sea became blood, And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and that life died. And the third part of the ships were destroyed. And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were, a lamp. And it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters. And the name of the star is called wormwood. And the third part of the waters became wormwood. And many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. That's as much as we shall read at the moment. But I want you to see again, there could possibly be a deinterpretation of this judgment, a figurative, a symbolic one, and also they could be a literal one. But what I wish you to denote is that God says, I'm going to visit the streams of earth that men drink from with my divine displeasure and with my judgment. May I go to another chapter in the book of the Revelation? I want to read in chapter fourteen, verse seventeen through twenty. Listen to it. And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. Another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire. and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, or her grapes are fully ripe, and the angel thrust in its sickle into the earth, and gathered the wine of the earth, and cast it into the great wine-press of the wrath of God, and the wine-press was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the wine-press, even under the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs. Now let me briefly but thoroughly remind my listeners this is a future judgment that's coming upon the world. The centrality, the focal point of this particular judgment is going to be the land of Israel, which approximately north and south is sixteen hundred furlongs, about two hundred miles running north and south. And God's wrath is going to be visited upon the nations who will be gathered around Jerusalem in that day seeking the destruction of his earthly people. And God says that the very greats of the earth have become rotten, and he's going to visit in judgment, and blood will flow. And if you may take this literally, I don't object if you wish to, but blood is going to flow throughout that land. And even to the horse's bridles, declares the prophet John. But let me go further and read in chapter sixteen of this same book of the Revelation. And I want you to read with me verses three through seven and listen to the words carefully. The second angel, this is one of the vile judgments that come later. The second angel poured out his vile upon the sea. It became as the blood of a dead man. Every living soul died in the sea. And the third angel poured out his vile upon the rivers and fountains of waters. And they became blood. I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art and was. and shalt be, because thou wast judge thus, for they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink, for they are worthy. And I heard another out of the altar say, even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments. Now what I want to impress upon you, my listener, is not just what happened in Egypt long ago. That's past. The history is gone. And Egypt has disappeared in its power as a world empire, as we well know. But God's visitations upon that great realm of long ago was a visitation upon the gods of Egypt, upon the stream of the Nile and all other streams, upon all tributaries, upon all ponds and pools of water, vessels of water, which was symbolic and are symbolic of the streams of the earth. My beloved, I want to say again very frankly, you cannot drink of the streams of the earth and find living water. But may I point out in the book of the Revelation in the chapters we have read, chapter eight, chapter fourteen, chapter sixteen, there will be worldwide disasters. There will be worldwide judgment upon the streams of the gods and the idols of the earth in that coming day of God's wrath. blood, blood, blood, typical, symbolic of divine judgment and wrath. Now, beloved, listen, let's take the lesson. We have stated that Egypt is the type of the world in which we are living. Egypt was just one empire. The world is comprised of many nations. But again we declare this world is a place from which and out of which the sinner needs deliverance. And again we would remind the listeners of our program that in Galatians one, verse three and four, the Savior, it is said of him, he gave himself, our Lord Jesus Christ gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil world, according to the will of God, even our Father. I want to ask one question plainly. My radio listener without Christ, do you want to go to hell? Do you want to be judged for your sins? Do you want to go down with this world to judgment? Now, if you've got any common sense and concern, surely you would say, no, I don't. And if there's any reality to this fact in your soul, may I point you to the fact On the cross of Calvary the Lord Jesus paid the penalty and price and suffered and bore the judgment for your sins that you might be delivered. I tell you very frankly, only by the death of the Savior and your faith in that death for your salvation will you ever have deliverance from a world that is coming under the divine judgment of God at the end of the age. May I plead with you to do what the Scripture says, flee from the wrath to come. And then to my fellow believer before closing, let me remind you again of John's words in his epistle, first John chapter two. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. Don't set your affection upon this world that is going to judgment. My friend, I'm going to say frankly, all you need to do is read the Word of God. Read the book of the Revelation itself. And blood, blood, blood, blood is the language of that book of the Revelation from chapter six down to the end of chapter nineteen. You know, I'm glad I'm saved. My radio listener, are you? I beg you to come to Christ. It may be the last opportunity you shall have. Come while you can. and receive the Savior now. Oh, Father, bring someone to the Lord, Jesus, and snatch them from the burnings of hell in Jesus' name. Amen.
