Good morning. Moments of melody time, five minutes to help you begin your day with a song. The evening games were over. The last story had been read, and now Mary must get ready for bed. Father led her to the door of the unlighted hall. There he paused for a moment and said, Mary, would you rather go up the stairs and to bed in the dark with your hand in Daddy's, or would you rather go alone and have a light on? Mary clung to his hand for a moment and breathed a deep childish sigh. Daddy, I would rather go in the dark if I can keep my hand in yours. So I go on not knowing. I would not, if I might. I'd rather walk in the dark with God than go alone in the light. I'd rather walk by faith with Him than go alone by sight. Every time I see a rainbow gliding in the sky above, I remember God's great mercy and His faithfulness and love. When there's a rainbow in the sky The clouds that crowns go smiling by Tis a promise written there Of our father's love and care When there's a rainbow in the sky With the storms of life that sweep us there will be a rainbow too bringing hope and sweet assurance The skies will soon be bright and blue. And now we're going to read from St. Paul's letter to the Ephesians. And he, the Lord Jesus, has brought this good news of peace to you Gentiles, who were very far from him. and to us Jews who were near, and now all of us, whether Jews or Gentiles, may come to God the Father with the Holy Spirit's help because of what Christ has done for us. Now you are no longer strangers to God and foreigners to heaven, but you are members of God's very own family, citizens of God's country, and you belong to God's household with every other Christian. What a foundation you stand on now. The apostles and the prophets and the cornerstone of the building is Jesus Christ Himself. Along with Christ, we who believe are carefully joined together as parts of a beautiful, constantly growing temple for God. You also are joined in with Him and with each other by the Spirit and are part of this dwelling place of God. Yes, God has great plans for believers. We can trust God in the dark, in the light. We can walk with Him. So I go on not knowing. I would not know if I might. I'd rather walk by faith with Him than go alone by sight.
