The prince took the opportunity, when the man was out of the room, to put a piece of gold in a certain chapter in the Bible. As he said goodbye, he exhorted the farmer to read his Bible, and he would find a treasure therein. After a year, the prince returned, and one of his first question was, Well, did you continue to read your Bible? Yes, truly, said the farmer, each day a chapter. Give me your Bible for a minute, said the prince. He opened it to where he had hidden the gold. There it was. So he put it in his pocket, saying, Why hast thou told me so many lies? If thy Bible had been read, surely thou wouldst have found my mark. Now we can't promise that you'll find a gold piece in your Bible as you read it, but there is something even better than gold in the Bible. There's the message of salvation, a forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ. For the one believing the message receiving the Lord Jesus as Savior, there's life everlasting in heaven. There's a sacred and hallowed retreat, where my soul finds a fellowship sweet, where the Lord of my life I may meet. The great multitude followed him and pressed close to him. And now a woman who for twelve years had had had an issue of blood and had undergone much from many physicians spending all she had on them and was no better for it, but rather had grown worse, came up behind Jesus in the crowd, for she had been told of him and touched his cloak. If I can even touch his cloak, she said to herself, I shall be healed. Immediately the source of the bleeding dried up, and she felt in her body that she had been cured of her afflictions. Jesus, thereupon, inwardly aware of the power that had proceeded from him, turned back toward the multitude, and asked, Who touched my garments? His disciples said to him, Canst thou see the multitude, pressing so close to thee, and asked, Who touched me? But he looked around to catch sight of the woman who had done this. And now the woman, trembling with fear, since she recognized what had befallen her, came and fell at his feet, and told him the whole truth. Whereupon Jesus said to her, My daughter, thy faith has brought thee recovery. Go in peace and be rid of thy affliction. Have you ever noticed that people didn't stay ill in the presence of the Lord Jesus? He healed them. He helped them. And He'll help you if you'll come near to Him. One of the purposes of this program is to cause you to want to draw near to the Lord Jesus.
