Top of the morning to you. Welcome to Moments of Melody. Five minutes of pearls and parables for you here at the beginning of the day. Some years ago when a bridge was being built, the workmen came to a very crucial point where the two sides were supposed to meet, but the iron girders refused to contract each other by several inches. Therefore the bolts and rivets could not be driven through to secure the whole together. Every mechanical method to bring them into union was tried, but to no avail. Finally in despair all further effort was abandoned for the night. The following morning the sun came up bright and warm, and gradually the great mass of metal, expanding beneath its genial rays, came together in a perfect union. Quickly the workmen inserted the bolts and rivets, And the great span was completed. Such, too, is the warming power of the Son of Righteousness. If the Lord Jesus is shed abroad in our hearts toward others, things that cannot be knit in artificial ways by ritual or religion are then blended into a perfect fellowship. How blessed is the communion when by love we serve one another. Song of my soul, thou saviour dear, it is not night if thou be near. Who may know earth-born flower I, Whom I be from thy servant's eyes, When thou forfew thou kindly sleep, buried I this gently sing. Be my last hope, how sweet to rest forever on my Savior's breath. St. Paul's letter to the Philippians. And so, my dear brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and my crown, do stand firmly in the Lord. Remember how much I love you. Yodias and Sintiki, I beg you by name to make up your differences as Christians should. And you, my true fellow worker, I ask you to help these women. They both worked hard for me for the gospel. as did Clement and all my other fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life. Delight yourselves in God. Yes, find your joy in Him at all times. Have a reputation for gentleness. Never forget the nearness of our Lord. St. Paul wrote to two women in Philippi, urging them to make up their differences. Their little quarrel was hindering the work of God. God make me kind. So many hearts are needing the balm to stop the bleeding that my kind words can bring. God make me kind.
