Another edition of Moments of Melody Coming Your Way. Joe Bailey has a little book titled, Psalms of My Life. I'd like to read the one he's titled, A Psalm for Today. This is the day the Lord has made. The Lord? Today? Yesterday, perhaps, could claim your craft. Or hopefully tomorrow, but not today, this disappointing day so filled with problems, needs, despair, and doubt. This is the day the Lord has made and making it. He'll give me strength and hope to take me through. This is the day the Lord has made, so I'll be glad, and I'll rejoice in it. Psalm for today by Joe Bailey. Out in the highways and byways of light, Many are wivvy and gritty and sad. Carry the sunshine where darkness is bright, Making the sorrow its land. Make me a blessing, make me a blessing. Out of your life, make me a sunshine. Make me a blessing, O Savior, I pray. Take me a blessing to come the new day. Tell the sweet story of Christ and His love, tell of His power to forgive. Others will trust in His only you through, through every moment you live. Make me a blessing. Make me a blessing. Out of my life, when Jesus died. Make me a blessing, O Savior, I pray. May be your blessing to come on today. From Psalm one hundred eighteen we read, This is the day which the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Save us, we beseech thee, O Lord. O Lord, we beseech thee, give us success. Blessed be he who enters in the name of the Lord. We bless you from the house of the Lord. The Lord is God, and he has given us light. Bind the festal procession with branches on the horns of the altar. Thou art my God, and I will give thanks to thee. Thou art my God, I will extol thee. O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. Yes, this is the day that the Lord has made. And rather than try to discover all the whys and wherefores, and analyze whether everything is going all right or all wrong, why not with the writer of Psalm, a hundred eighteen, be happy in it, rejoice in it. And with the songsters we can ask that we'll be a blessing to somebody today. Somebody needs the encouragement that you can give them today. Some child, some young person, some older person, some shot in. Count your many blessings. Yes, and be a blessing to somebody today.
