But what? For our ninth year now, then Pilate therefore took leave and smote him. And the soldiers had taken a crown of thorns and put it on his head. And they put on him a purple robe. He said, Hail, King of the Jews, and they smote him with her hat. Pilate therefore and forth the end and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may go, that I find no cause to him. Then came Jesus forth, wearing a crown for him, and the bird of the earth. Pilate, saith unto them, Behold the man, when the chief did therefore, and off his coffin, he cried out saying, Crucify him, Crucify, Pilot saith unto them, take heed him, and I seek thee by him, but I am finding no part of him. If you have answered him, we have a law. By our law we ought to die, because we made him suffer from a rock. And Pilate therefore heard that day he was the more afraid. And when it came into the judgment of all, and saith unto Jesus, then trust God, that we became the last then says Pilate unto him. Is it thou not unto me? Nor thou not, but I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release it? He said, Thank you. Thou shouldest have no power at all, said the Blessed Virgin indeed in the body. Therefore he that delivered thee unto thee hath a bit of sin, the way to the high priest. He replied, he cried with Nero. Pilot in this day, the dead said, and from henceforth Pilate's proclamation, that the Jews might have said, If thou let this man go, thou art not treasurer's strength, which were to make of themselves a game steeped against Caesar. Then Pilate, therefore, heard that so, before Jesus walked, sat down in a judgment-seeking place where he saw the pavement, but in the heaver of the back, And it was the preparation of the Passover, and about the six hours, the sale, unto the Jews, the owner came, but they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate to the countenance, and am I crucify your king? Keep this answer, do you have no king but Caesar. Then the neighbor came, therefore unto them, to be crucified. And they took Jesus. terrible way. He bearing this cross went forth into a cave stall, the place of a stall. He was called a medieval sloth, where they crucified him and two others with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the next. And Pilate wrote the title and put it on the cross. The writing was, Jesus advanced with the king of the Jews. This title then read many of the Jews. For the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city, and it was written in Hebrew, in Greek, and Latin. Then said the chief priests of the Jews of Pilate, write not the king of the Jews, but that he said, I am the king of the Jews. Pilate answered, What I have written, I have cursed. It's pretty interesting in going through this chapter. And we thought of it, I think, the night before last, of a number of words, beginning with E. X, you have the execution. That is crucifix. The executor, or the treasurer, the one who is executing this individual. And the executed Christ changes the law. And the expedition. He's the one, and the no one... You expedite me, you get rid of something in a hurry. That's what they wanted to do. And the exaltation. In the end, Jesus fights the cross. Secretly executed. Crucifixions. The awful treatment limited out to a victim such as clogging, purging, deepening. All this punishment that was practiced by the Romans. generally preceding an execution. Many of these victims died before they were laid, before they were crucified. They were beaten and flogged so badly that they couldn't buy. This was not necessary. But it was one of the procedures that the Romans adopted before they crucified a man. I will supply the religious list. The dictionary of the Bible that speaks, a culture that was stripped and stretched with cords or thorns on a plane and beaten with the law of God. Even Jewish law had limitations, a Jew. They said just what he's right. But the Romans, though Putin, they went beyond that limitation. Even you have when a Roman emperor like Constantine, when he accepted Christianity, he abolished crucifixion. because it was so good. And also there was no one in Cicero when he said, The very name crucifixion ought to be excluded, not merely from the body, but from the thought, eyes and ears of Roman citizens. The very cost of crucifixion, today trampled the punishment, as you know, is by ingestion. and they say it's true and unusual punishment. What would the public think if a man were condemned to the gas chambers, and the Bible teaches plainly, capital to punish, he that shredeth man's blood by man shall his blood be shed? But supposedly before a man is to be put into the electric chair, that he was treated the way the Lord Jesus Christ was treated. taken out and beaten, tied up to a post, and someone fogging him with a big grip, with pieces of steel in, tearing the flesh from his back, walking up and punching him in the face, stripping in his face, keeping all kinds of indignity and upon him and ignominy, for the public would rise up and retaliate against us. If a man threw foot to death for this crime of restitution, let him be put to death. Why do all this prior to that? Is he not going to pay with his life? The Lord Jesus of that kind of people. It was not necessary for them to do all that Pilate did in these first three verses. Pilate did it just to carry out Roman law. Even then he wasn't Roman law. There was a case of just wanting to do all they could, to humiliate the Lord Jesus and to feed the high priest and other priests and to strive to rule the least. Pilate made such that they thought, he dropped, here when he dropped the Lord Jesus fall, beaten, bleeding if you want. He says, behold the man, hoping that that would suffice. and he wouldn't have to put him to death. But then Pilate brought the Lord Jesus forth on what a pitiful sight. They say that's enough. You beat them enough. No, they said, away with this man. Crucify, you will not have this man believe over us. What is the monster that we had before that day? Well, once again, I will traditionary versus what is a monster? A monster is an evil woman, an animal of that normal form or structure. One who deviates from normal behavior and character, a threatening force. And you might say such as communism, Islamism, what a threatening force, what a monster it is. An animal that is strange, A terrifying sheep. What a person of unnatural, extreme ugliness, deformity, wickedness, fools. That's the description of a monster. Will it even be? And there are many men that fit the description. Men like Stanley and the lawful Purdy and Hitler stop them now. But what is a monster in this chapter? The monster in this chapter is S-I-S. Christ was at the point of making a toadment there. He had come into the world to put away sin, and sin rose up to put him away. And how did sin rise up to put Christ away? In the grab of religion. It has to be laid to plead with you, but away with it, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. He's not subject. Sin is lawlessness. Pilate scourged him. He believed. He established a sense of law. Sin is transgression. Why, Pilate was identified by even... the principles, the statutes, the jurors do. For the more sin is a mix of it, injustice. The soldiers, they swoop, they spit in the stick, that's sin. Sin is a rebellion against God. And certainly they were repenting against God and doing what they were doing, beating God's son the way they were doing. Sin is a nothing. without the age of even punishment. What is? Sin is coming short of the glory of God, keeping all kinds of ignominy upon God's beloved Son, and sin is defilement, sin is silver, unhinged, they spat in his face. That sin, and that's the monster we have here that put Jesus Christ together. You see the ugly side of sin. But sin can be dressed in silk and in satin. Sin can not only show the eye and bliss but the veil of the blood. Sin can smile and be shy and be dark. Sin can be acquired in religious garb like the scribes of the Pharisees. Sin can be sober and true, like a false cult today. Sin can be attired in the lobes of the intelligence, the learned, the higher learned, the have no time for Christ. Sin today, today attired in intellectual material, no room for the Lord Jesus. Sin can be at easy after this. in the institutions of religion. Remember, in the latter days, sin is seen in the Scarlet Woman. Religion! Religion without power. And that Scarlet Woman is going to be destroyed. I've seen the Revelation, Heavenly, and that's in a ecclesiastical system. Sin! Yes, these are some of the martyrs of sin. You've got to think of this. Things can be very complimentary. Judas said, I have betrayed. I'm innocent. Pilate said three times, I find no fault. Herod said, I should not be worthy of death in this land. Pilate wife said, I've got nothing to do with you, his father. The dying sheep said, this man's done nothing to do. the centurion, that truly this was, the Son of God, this was a righteous man. And even the people's panning around, that truly this was the Son of God. These are all compliments. Even the daughters of Jerusalem, as they followed them as he was going up to Golgotha, say with, and the Lord Jesus turned thee so ye to yourself. and for you too for the miseries that are coming upon you they were sentiments this poor man and the Lord didn't want their sentiment he wanted their culture sin can be even sentimental and even the demon to save the holy one of God that's it this is sin What is the sin, the monster we see exhibited as a file of Jesus Christ with a human heart, your mind? Listen to what the Lord Jesus says in Mark seven, thirty-one. The Lord Jesus said, For come within, out of the heart of man, proceed evil from, adulteries, fornication, murder, sex, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness. Or in other words, loo, lustfulness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these things come from within and depile the man. Did I not describe a monster? The heart is the sequel of all things and desperately wickedness of God. That's not a nest of snakes. I'd like to know what it is. The human heart is the special tool of a mystery. A monster responsible for all that's going on in the world today is sin. There's not a crime committed today that we don't have the potential to commit. The little darling of his mother's arms is hungry, the criminal number one. Yes. The worst criminal I ever lived was once a little baby on a familiar life. It's got something that is to him. All it requires is the time and the circumstance that amid the most horrible times, the time to be alive. The human heart is at once did what they did before Jesus Christ. Send in this man these men, and in these women. It's a sad day. Think of what sin did. Think of it. The Lord Jesus was the pure, boldest, manliest, pensive, human being of the Lord. He was the most dialed, gracious, virtuous, inoffensive, generous heart of man, the Lord Jesus. He was the meekest, the loveliest, the truest, the wiser, the teacher, an exception. who ever offered respect. He was the most sympathetic, self-sacrifice, philanthropist. He never went over human wounds. The Lord Jesus Christ. What have he done to deserve all that he received, the hands of the Lord Jesus? And that beautiful hymn written in sixteen seventy-seven by the Crusaders, And listen to it. It's in our hymn book. Pair us, Lord Jesus, ruler of all nature, for thou of God and man the Son. He will I cherish. He will I honor. Thou my soul's glory, joy, and pride. There are the meadows, pair us still the woodland, robed in the brooding garb of spring. Jesus, his pairer, he that is pure, To make the woeful heart the same. There is the sunshine. There is still the moonlight and all the crimson starry hope. Jesus shines brighter. Jesus shines purer than all the angels' heavens can make. The Lord Jesus Christ, whose holy spot that's come of God, will say, Amen. Amen. Amen. What was it that did all this? To the Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, I did. And that's your heart. Your heart is just full of appalling man. That's true. I know political ideologies may have come in close upon human hearts. That's true. Sometimes upstream, a good environment will have some influence on humans. But given the right opportunities, and I know their dimliness to sons and daughters, brought up in a religious atmosphere, they turn out to be someone who was wild, criminal, who had ever walked the face of the earth, they had a good environment. But here, for human heart, as God sees, You turn full of ale over it before God. He knows what's in your heart. And this morning, your heart is the biggest monster in the world ever thought. You have rejected me just now. You've set away with this man. I've had nothing to do with it. He's not going to rain over me. What a sad picture. What about you? the expedition, the explanation of this expedition. When the Lord Jesus was brought before the people, how did they react to the strife of the Pharisees? Over in Luke, you find these words in Luke, in Luke, nineteen, fourteen. The way we must have. Crucify and crucify. We will not have this man to reign over us. That's the problem. of the Holy Spirit. You can reign over someone else. Let someone else take it. Let those who ask us for them to be ready with our eyes. And you say this morning, let others receive Jesus Christ. Let them accept them as Savior and Lord of their lives, reigning over their lives. Don't ask me to be subject with his sovereignty and with him. Away with him. You will not have him in the West. In other words, they wanted to expedite him in a hurry. Already with me. Poor individual. You can hardly believe that human beings did this. He was the best human being that ever lived. The only man who had a right to live, died, that those who don't have a right to live, might live for them. Jesus Christ, what a monster you've got in your heart. Only the last week I saw with a couple of women, and they drove spiked into the head. It was late. And once you go on, Sometimes you turn the page quickly and then pick up your new statement, save all of it, unscathed, saved all of it, and sin for that purpose. And it comes from the human mind. And your heart is just the same as those people who commit those horrible crimes. That's the moment. Why are you not a Christian as well? is hard in your heart. You don't want it. You don't want the Lord. You don't want this man. The name of the Lord. Away with this man. Very significant. How the chapter opens in verse two. And the soul just takes the town of Corinth and puts it on his head. And he put it on him in the book of Rome. And forms are very interesting in the Bible. They're a sign of the curse over in Genesis, verse three, eighteen. After Adam and Eve sinned, what happened to the earth? God says, I cursed the earth, but I did, sorrow, thorn, distal, strength, and wealth. Seeing that monsters come into your heart, Adam, and Eve, this is the truth. This is the heart. offer. But you know, corned her scene in redemption, and that's a lovely thought over in Galatians three, thirteen, Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, for there's a written curse that is under the law of the law. Here's the Lord Jesus being made a curse for those who are cursed. Those who deserve to be cursed, that Christ went to the cross and he suffered and he died and he died. Then you have regeneration, forms associated with regeneration in the Bible. One time a number of years ago, I think we spoke on the passage in Isaiah fifty-five, and I'm going to read it to you, to those who accept the Savior, for ye shall go out with joy, nor does that, and be led forth with peace. The mountains and hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the fields shall clap their hands instead of the thorns, Moses. Instead of the thorns shall come up the fir trees. Isn't that nice? Instead of the thorns, the thorns are replaced with a fir tree, and that kind of good was used in musical instruments of the... three generations. And he says further, and he said, Instead of that, and instead of the briars shall come up the myrtle tree, horns and bribes are now replaced with singing and praise, and also the myrtle tree is a fragrant feast, an ornamental tree. That's a monument of grace, the sinner's day five nights. beings of love I face up to the mountain walk, and in his sovereign health of peace eternal life, to be to be. This is what strength is. Regeneration, a new curse, a new creature in Christ Jesus. You have the curse in nature, seeing the thorns, and of it, you have... dedemption in the person of Christ before the first when they found in the cross. You have regeneration when the Spirit of God makes good for your heart and mind what Jesus did for us upon the cross, and that's what regeneration is. Not what I do for Jesus Christ, but what Jesus Christ did for me. I've been preaching now forty-eight years. And not one thing in forty-eight years that I've done for the war contributes to my service. I was just the same the night I set the tide at the age of nineteen, as I am today after all these years of teaching, and seeing hundreds lent at sight. No good thing, no bad news, nothing of death. and they're all at that contributed to my salvation. Nothing I've done to Jesus Christ saved me, or keep me saved. It's what Jesus Christ gave for me on the cross of what he's now doing for me as God forever. And so this is me, generation. Not there are thorns in reproducers. Notice in Hebrews six, seven, and eight, where the earth which drinks within the rain, that come aloft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meek for them by whom it is dressed, receiveeth blessing from God. But that which beareth thorns and gyres is rejected, and is nigh unto a person whose end it is to be done. In the time of retribution, God says, My word, My gospel has come down like the rain from heaven. will soften up the soil that we need not. And those who are softened up and receive the message, receive blessings and profit will be saved. For those who refuse that same message that saves others, their heart is heart. And instead of bringing forth salvation, bring forth condemnation. And because you're right there, the outcome whose their sentence is to be burned. The word of God has a dual effect, as it treats some of the affected life and is evil, and are saved by it, others rejected, and are hardened and condemned by. You condemn yourself by condemning Jesus Christ. And so the ponds and the vires are still again in the future. It is with you. You heard that same soft, melony message of the gospel that melted from what? That's how you did. Now let mine summers and years old are weak. There is. And that's it. Rejected. You've been, Mrs. of Ireland. But there's another... aspect of the thorns I love. And that is the thorns when Jesus Christ revealed what we have. We have the thorns in the past. We just read it, nineteen hundred years, Jesus came forth during the crown of death. That's the fact. What about the present? Yes, God has something lovely to say about the present. He was crowned with thorns, but where is he now? What kind of a crown does he have now? Do he was over in Hebrews, three, two, nine. But now we see not yet all things but under him, but we see Jesus, who was made a little lower for the angels, for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, but he by the grace that brought this day to day. Where is he now? he has brought by hand to his crown, not the third, but many of them, his crown with glory and with all from the Lord. God has highly exalted him and given them a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow in every tongue confess that he is Lord with the glory of God above it. God said, my son, after that tribulation, when they found you at the horns and did it there. He said, I will have found you with the law in honor at my right hand. God says here, my son, set at my right hand until I make thine enemies like this. That's going to be the deal. But there's another promise. The one of the past formed at the hands of the head. One of the present God found his son is rolling on us. The other is the future. Yes, before I go into the future, I'm going to read you over the Revelation chapter nineteen and look at that. And I saw heaven open and behold the white horse. And he that sat upon him was called faithful and true. And in righteousness he that judged and made one. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many strung, many lies. He had a name written that no man knew but he had said, and he was full with a vesture dipped in blood, and his name was called the Word of God. The army's victory in heaven followed him upon likewise, pulled and tied in and in Christ in truth. Out of his mouth poured a sharp sword that rivets he should smite the nation, and he shall rule them with a lot of iron. He treads the whining flesh of the fiercest and wrath of all mankind, cast on his vesture on his cry and aim, that is the King of Kings and Lord. So the day is coming when the Lord Jesus will have all of us found, one is dead. priority, the imperial crown, king of kings, and lord of lords. Yes, it was a time when France had about seven kings. They were called kings because they reigned over a certain area in the capital city. But there was one king where this was brought to his attention about these other kings, but these were fine kings. All these others were just their kings over a small area about a such fine thing as that. The day is coming when the Lord Jesus is going to receive the crown, birth, and many dying. And all the kings, the rulers of nations, and their coming days will be subject to fear. This is going to be a king with more death. To be no more staying away with us, man, will not have him to rain over us. He's going to rain over the earth, who seeks a seed and pull the fruit. For all who use that language, away with this man, I'll not have him to rain over me. He will be consigned to your everlasting burdens. And let it pass. That's where that monster goes, that seats in your heart. I love that you see, crowned, the crown of thorns, that's the past, mended at the end. But now at God's right hand is found with honor and with joy. He said, Why is the man and woman who recognizes him at God's right hand in that capacity found this role in God? The Lord Jesus came from the land of Palestine, and that land rejected it. God said he had come on right back to that same piece of property, the face of this humiliation that I am going to assault. And he's going to be given then the crown of the mighty Son with his glory. All that I have been given to you, And that's what the situation in the Middle East is heading up for. All these things are working in their place. They have taken their place in very place. They are turning in the Middle East, as we will come, coming down the heavens on its right side. And all the armies are heading before us. And out of this mouth we will go a dark, deep egg with a smoke. out of his mouth. He is going to ask, Lord, that his name is Paul, the Word of God. In that day he'll speak the word. He doesn't need little tanks and horses there of flame. No. He has all the artillery he needs. He'll command the elements and sails going to hundred pound weights that will rain from heaven. knocking flames out of the sky and huddling the assembled armies in the veil and the ghetto and the blood run forth and feed to the horse's life. We have come then with many cries. Universal day, universal day, all enemies will only receive. I love the country, I love this little poem, after the silence of ages, after the waiting of years, he cometh the answer of slavery, the vision foretold by the sea. Regal in splendor he cometh, sceptre of iron for sway, glorious the king in his triumph on his inaugural day, comes for the help of his people, conqueror faithful and free, called from the hearted New Heaven, behold, I must always be. And he's the only one that can. And he's the only one that can do it. This fool worries and unawfulness. Man brought it into the next thing and he can't do it. He's the only one who will was a man who was crowned at Corinth nineteen hundred years ago. Crowned and honored and glory now. from coming with all the dry agenda on him, all opposition mounts before him in a cave. I'm Lord of Lord. You're not a Christian, is you? You're among that more than a nineteen hundred years ago, step away with this man. And I have no idea why. Can you give me any reason why Pilate should have condemned such a person as Jesus Christ? Has he ever done you any harm in your life? None of you. And why do you reject? You're still not allowed to put the crown of horns on the table. You don't want to. I hope you see the truth. And open your heart and let the Lord be. And all that is really good. Right triumph was into your heart. Put out the right prophets of repentance. Take the Son of God's eye and triumph into the soul of your heart. And be of peace. Your son. Your son. What will you do? What will your answer to be? Be so that monster is in your heart today. And let the Son of God take it. You can see this. Yes. And you should be yourself again. What can you do to the Lord Jesus Christ with me? You are here. Our Father in heaven, in the name of the Lord Jesus, thy Son. We come before thee, we ask thy blessing upon thy days. We thank thee for thy holy son. That lovely one. the Lord Jesus. We thank you for those in the fear that have received it, and none have regretted that short. You listen to the damage sooner in life. Oh, Father, we pray for any year today. We are not Christians. They have no real reason for not to hear this prayer. If a monk serves him, this opinion of us, we trust this morning. The Lord Jesus Christ will be received and conquer that monster and reigns in the hearts and rights of individuals in the world. We ask our blessings and prayers. Our Lord Jesus Christ is Lord. So he sings, three hundred and forty-three. He must ascend to make a calling of old, calling today, calling today, why from the sunshine of blood without gold, Father and Father are we calling today, calling today, calling today, even just for ten million. Calling today. We've accepted Christ this morning, some time. It's not going to be easy. Good in that day, when you ride forth and all this triumph through one of his, may not be easy this morning. I'll tell you one thing, you'll be happy you did it. I've never seen anyone yet. Through me, I'm sorry I said to you this month, I have done it there with the blood and the hands of you. You did it. Praise God.
